The article examines the financial efficiency of privately owned and rented electric vehicles in the Dushanbe taxi market. Using data on 13,324 taxis and 18,348 registered drivers, the study estimates shift parameters, annual working time, mileage, operating costs, cost per kilometre, revenue, and driver profit. The calculations assume an average daily mileage of 180 km, 276 actual working days per year, and a fare of 3 somoni per kilometre. Annual costs are estimated at 114,035 somoni for a privately owned vehicle and 124,280 somoni for a rented vehicle, while annual profits amount to 35,005 and 24,760 somoni, respectively. The paper assesses how low profitability affects working hours, driver fatigue, road safety, and service quality. It also compares international practices regarding aggregator and fleet commissions. An economic and mathematical model evaluates commission rates from 0% to 30% and supports replacing the fixed daily payment with a more balanced percentage-based commission system.
