Annotation:

The article provides a comprehensive analysis of the population coverage level of drinking water supply and wastewater services in the Republic of Tajikistan, taking into account regional distribution, population size, and types of settlements. Differences in service provision between urban and rural areas, as well as across regions, are examined. It is found that a high level of coverage is characteristic of large cities, whereas small settlements and mountainous areas experience limited access, particularly to wastewater and sanitation services. The existing types of organizations providing these services, including centralized and decentralized management forms, are analyzed. Key challenges in the sector are identified, and directions for improving the efficiency and sustainability of water supply and wastewater systems are proposed.
