Annotation:
The paper presents the results of investigations into the deformation and strength properties of crushed silicate waste obtained after the complex processing of the muscovite mineral from the Kurgovat deposit in Tajikistan. Based on the obtained compression data, a moderate compressibility of the material was established. The total vertical deformation at a maximum pressure of 0.30 MPa was 0.76 mm (3.04% of the initial sample height). Intensive settlement at the initial loading stages is due to the repacking and parallel orientation of the platy mica flakes. During shear tests, a regular increase in shear resistance was recorded with an increase in normal pressure from 0.10 to 0.30 MPa. A linear strength relationship was constructed, from which the main mechanical parameters of the studied disperse system were determined: the specific cohesion of the mixture was 0.02 MPa, and the internal friction angle was equal to 32°. It is shown that the absence of rigid cementation bonds between the crushed particles causes high deformability and moderate shear strength of the mixture.
