Annotation:

The electrochemical characteristics of lithium-alloyed tin babbitt SnSb11Cu6 were investigated using the potentiostatic polarization technique at a potential sweep rate of 2 mV/s in a NaCl electrolyte. The results demonstrate that increasing the lithium content leads to a positive shift in the free corrosion potential as well as in the repassivation and pitting potentials relative to the base alloy. At the same time, an increase in the concentration of chloride ions in the solution causes these potentials to shift toward more negative values. It was also established that lithium alloying decreases the corrosion rate of the SnSb11Cu6 tin babbitt in NaCl solution by approximately 15%.
