Annotation:
This article presents the results of predicting the catalytic activity of chemical elements based on the application of the principles of D. I. Mendeleev’s Periodic Law and the crystal-chemical theory of heredity in inorganic nature. It has been established that the atomic number, the position of a chemical element in D. I. Mendeleev’s Periodic Table, and the presence of a corresponding genetic code make it possible to predict in advance the catalytic activity of its binary compounds. Based on the obtained results, a number of criteria have been developed to facilitate the selection of catalyst substances for implementation in various branches of industry. This enabled the authors to propose the compositions of more than four thousand compounds that are expected to exhibit catalytic activity.
Keywords: chemical elements, atomic number, D. I. Mendeleev’s Periodic Table, period, group, subgroup, prediction of catalytic activity, vertical, horizontal, and diagonal analogies of elements.
