This article examines the key issues involved in creating a hybrid power complex based on renewable energy sources in the country's mountainous regions. Due to the unpredictability of power generation from renewable energy sources, particularly solar and wind, maintaining the power and frequency balance is a primary task when creating a power complex. Currently, there are many ways to maintain the power balance of a renewable energy complex. This article discusses a method for maintaining the power balance and regulating the frequency using a diurnal response pool and superconducting magnetic energy storage. The use of superconducting magnetic energy storage enables rapid frequency maintenance before the frequency is regulated by small hydroelectric power station (SHPP) generators.
